AND WHEREAS THE VILLAGE MANAGER HAS SUBMITTED A MEMORANDUM PLANNING FOR RENOVATION OF THE HVAC SYSTEM AND KITCHENS IN ORDER TO CONTINUE TO SERVE THE VILLAGE. WHEREAS THE DORMITORY AUTHORITY OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, DNE IS CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THE NEW YORK BUILDING RECREATION RECREATION INFRASTRUCTURE FOR COMMUNITIES, KIDS AND SENIORS NEW YORK BRICKS GRANT OPPORTUNITY FUNDING UP TO 80% OF PROJECTS WITH A 20% LOCAL MATCH. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES AUTHORIZED THE VILLAGE MANAGER TO SUBMIT A NEW YORK BRICKS GRANT APPLICATION TO DASNY TO REPLACE THE HVAC AND KITCHENS IN THE JHCC IN THE AMOUNT OF $529,200 WITH A 20% MATCH OF $105,840 TO BE FUNDED FROM THE GENERAL FUND UNASSIGNED FUND BALANCE. THIS IS A REALLY EXCITING OPPORTUNITY. IT'S SOMETHING THAT CAME UP. AND, AND IT'S, THE STATE BASICALLY HAS ALL OF ITS AGENCIES NOW, UH, PUTTING OUT THEIR GRANT, UM, THEIR GRANT, UH, OPPORTUNITIES FOR, AT THIS PARTICULAR POINT IN TIME, AND THIS ONE WAS THROUGH CLIMATE SMART COMMUNITIES. WE DID COMPLY, WE DID APPLY FOR A COMPLETE STREETS GRANT UNDER THE, UH, C-S-A-C-S-C, THE COMPLETE STREETS COMMUNITIES. THE GRANT WAS A, HAD A 50% MATCH IN IT. THE, THE PROJECT ITSELF IS TO IMPROVE THE SIDEWALK ON THE NORTH SIDE OF RAVENSDALE ROAD AND TO INSTALL BIKE LANES ON BOTH SIDES OF THE ROAD FROM THE BRIDGE TO FARGATE AVENUE. AND I CAN, I CAN PUT ON, ON, ON OUR WEBSITE A LIKE A KIND OF A SUMMARY OF WHAT THE GRANT IS ALL ABOUT. ACCESS TO THE TRAIL, THE, THE SOUTH COUNTY TRAIL THAT'S THERE. AND, UM, MORE RECENTLY [00:45:01] IN JUNE, UH, THE COUNTY ALSO ISSUED AN OPPORTUNITY FOR A COMPLETE STREETS COMPLETE STREET GRANT, SORRY. AND, UM, AS, AS, AS IT WOULD BE, THEIRS IS ALSO A 50% GRANT GRANT WITH A 50% MATCH. AND BECAUSE THERE ARE TWO SEPARATE SOURCES OF MONEY. ONE IS FROM COUNTY MONEY AND ONE IS FROM STATE MONEY, THEY CAN BE USED AS A MATCH FOR EACH OTHER. SO IN OTHER WORDS, IF WE APPLY AGAIN, IF WE, WE APPLY FOR THE COUNTY GRANT AND WE'RE AWARDED BOTH GRANTS, IT WON'T COST THE VILLAGE ANYTHING BECAUSE EACH OF THE GRANTS WILL BE PAYING 50% FOR THE PROJECT. SO IT MAKES VERY GOOD SENSE FOR THE VILLAGE TO APPLY FOR BOTH GRANTS. UM, THE, THIS GRANT, THIS COMPLETE STREETS GRANT WITH THE COUNTY IS DUE IN SEPTEMBER. UH, I HAVE A MEETING SCHEDULED, A PRE, UH, PRE-APPLICATION MEETING SCHEDULED FOR LATER THIS WEEK WITH THE COUNTY. AND, UM, IT'S GOING TO BE VERY SIMILAR IN NATURE TO THE APPLICATION THAT WE MADE TO THE STATE. UH, YOU KNOW, OBVIOUSLY SOMETIMES DIFFERENT QUESTIONS COME UP IN THE GRANT APPLICATIONS, WHICH WE WILL ADDRESS, BUT, UM, THEY ARE THE SAME REALLY FOR THE SAME PROJECT. WE ALSO SUBMITTED UNDER, UH, SENATORS GILLIBRAND AND SCHUMER, BUT OUR PROJECT DIDN'T MAKE IT INTO THE SENATE BILL. HOWEVER, SENATOR GILLIBRAND HAS ACTUALLY REACHED OUT TO ME THROUGH HER TEAM TO SAY THAT SHE IS GONNA BE VERY MUCH SUPPORTING THIS PROCESS MOVING FORWARD. AND THEN NOT NO PROJECTS FOR ANY CONGRESS PERSON OR SENATOR THIS YEAR WERE MOVED FORWARD. UM, SO WE DON'T KNOW WHAT WILL HAPPEN, BUT IT'S IN AS GOOD A PLACE AS IT CAN BE. AND WE ARE VERY GRATEFUL TO CONGRESSMAN LATIMER FOR HAVING PUT FORWARD THIS PROJECT AGAIN THIS YEAR.
